About our Dentists

DR. RICH earned a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design prior to entering dental school.  Completing his dental degree at the well-respected Loma Linda University in 1987, he graduated in the top 7 percent of his class. Upon completion of his studies, he was honored with several awards, including the Fixed Prosthodontics (crowns and bridges) Departmental Award of Excellence, the President's Award for outstanding leadership, and the International College of Dentists award for great potential service to the profession.

He was recently honored as a "topDentist" in an exhaustive survey of his peers in the greater Seattle area, published in the January 2009 issue of Seattle Metropolitan magazine. Click on "selection process" at www.usatopdentists.com to learn more.

Dr. Rich is currently active in several organizations including the Seattle-King County Dental Society, Washington State Dental Association, American Dental Association, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS), SUMMIT Dental Study Group, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.  He is also a ROTARIAN and is active with his family in their local church congregation.

Free time is spent with his wife and their two sons.  Nature and travel photography are serious hobbies, and a number of the photographs displayed in the office are a result of his time spent outdoors with a camera in hand. The creativity and sensitivity to the nuances of color, proportion, and shape required serve him well,  both in dentistry and photography.

His focus is on improving each patient's quality of life by keeping them healthy and enhancing their appearance.  Asking Dr. Jacobsen to join him  has allowed us to expand the capabilities of our increasingly sought after practice to provide care to more people in our community.

DR. JACOBSEN earned a business degree at the University of Washington on her way to pursuing her long time goal to become a doctor.  Her artistic abilities, love for science and inherent draw to healthcare made dentistry a natural choice.  Returning to the UW, she excelled clinically and academically while earning her degree at the highly respected School of Dentistry . After receiving her DDS degree in 2008 and spending  a total of just under 10 years on the UW campuses, you can see why she is such a loyal and enthusiastic Husky fan!

Dr. Jacobsen is very interested in community dentistry and treating the underserved populations in the area, in addition to her work in private practice. She  spent many hours in dental school volunteering at several community clinics and plans to continue this mission throughout her dental career. Dr. Jacobsen loves to work with people and strives constantly to provide the best care for all of her patients.
